The gathering was carried out to celebrate the tuner`s 40 years of existence on the market, an occasion to showcase exclusive models wearing the tuner`s exclusive 540 three-piece forged alloy wheels and not only.

The wheels involved used to be the hottest back in the 90`s and were seen on rides like the E46 BMW M3, Porsche 996 Turbo or C5 Corvette. Now, in the 2018 iteration, the wheels are set to commemorate 40 years of the tuner`s successful existence on the market.

Following the launch of the Sunburst Gold Metallic F80 BMW M3 which wore the same hot wheels, the tuner has also had the chance to present the iconic BMW M4 wearing the gorgeous Mineral Gray body colour and wrapped in the same HRE 540 wheels.

Just like the F80 BMW M3 related in a previous post, this Mineral Gray BMW M4 is also coming with the hot wheels, measuring the same 20 x 8.5 and 20 x 10.5 front and rear, respectively, and finished in the mind-blowing Polished Dark Clear, which perfectly complements the car`s exterior paintjob.

Powering the Mineral Gray BMW M4 is the famous 3.0-liter M TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder engine with 431 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque, enough to deliver a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds, when hooked to a six-speed manual transmission. However, equipped with a seven-speed MDC-T, the same sprint is done in just 4.1 seconds.

Lately, we have seen a dozen of M4 GTS models receiving plenty of customizations around their bodies, inside the cabin, as well as under the hood. At the exterior, the BMW M4 GTS comes in standard form while under the hood the M4 GTS brags with a stock yet powerful 3.0-liter BMW TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder engine (it is not the same engine as its smaller sibling M4), churning out an impressive 493 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque. Paired to a seven-speed M Double Clutch Transmission, equipped with Drivelogic, the M4 GTS sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in a staggering 3.6 seconds.

To add power boost, there must be some necessary preparations involved. In this case, the aftermarket specialists from Manhart have installed a carbon fiber intake system especially built for the car by Eventuri firm, and which increases the engine soundtrack and add more power, of course. With the new exhaust in one place, the tuner also added new cat-less downpipes which help the gas to exit into the Manhart muffler system with a custom piping. And there is of course, the new ECU remapping, also helpful in boosting the power.

Adjustments at the exterior have also been made. The car comes with high-performance wheels and wider tires to cope with the new grip, while the KW Variant 3 coil-overs reduce the car`s ride height for increased stability, handling and stance.

Eventually, the car has been accessorized with BMW M Performance Parts, like M Performance front spoiler, M Performance rear diffuser and new bonnet with GTR vents. All these features are made from carbon fiber.

Inside, the cabin has received some modifications as well, now coming with a red roll cage and Recaro bucket seats in the front. The rear seats were removed to make the car lighter. To give it a cozy and luxurious feel, the technicians have finally added M Performance Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel and black Alcantara accents.

As standard, the M3 is equipped with the famous S55 3.0-liter twin-turbo in-line six-cylinder engine, developing 331 kW and 550 Nm of torque. However, with the new systems installed, this lad here is capable of 405 kW and a staggering 820 Nm of torque. Performance figures haven’t been provided, but given the standard 4.3 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h, we expect this lad manage at least 3.9 seconds.

Even with such a reputation, people still decided to improve the BMW M5 E39. In the case of one particular owner, upgrading the E39 proved to be a bad idea. Using parts from radically different BMW models, like the M4 and M3, the owner of this particular M5 E39 ruined the balance that defined this particular vehicle. This BMW now looks like a mix between three different cars. In fact, the identity of this BMW M5 has been hidden behind all those M4 and M3 parts. This car could easily be identified as Frankenstein’s car. While the car is not completely ugly, the BMW model mix is definitely something that most would consider weird.

The white color of the vehicle partly saves the look of the car. The integrated parts are less visible in white. Still, if you take a closer look, you can immediately notice the horrendous mix of parts from different BMW vehicles. The parts were adapted to fit perfectly with this BMW M5 E39. It is the different styles of these parts that turn this car into an unconvincing build. The front of this particular BMW M5 E39 is wide, while the back is quite narrow.

This particular project build shows that mixing BMW vehicles is not really a great idea. Such a project could be interesting to see. The end result will always be strange on account of all the different styles integrated within one car. You could say this is something more of an experiment. The aim of such projects can only be to see why you shouldn’t combine parts from different car models in one single build. There is no doubt about the fact that this particular BMW M5 E39 is ruined by the added modifications. While a lot of work might have been put into this particular build, the result is simply unconvincing.

Sadly, there are no words of any updates under the hood. We might have been looking here at the perfect package. This means the same 3.0-liter BMW TwinPower Turbo flat-six, also seen on its little sibling the M3 Sedan. The engine outputs 431 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque, sending the power to the rear via a six-speed manual. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h is also done in 4.1 seconds, but when hooked with the seven-speed M-DCT transmission, the model runs the same sprint in just 3.9 seconds. The topping is electronically limited at 250 km/h.
