Alpina is an independent auto manufacturer that works on BMW vehicles giving them performance upgrades that are much welcomed by BMW fans. The XB7 is their bid to keep the fan’s interests piqued. The BMW Alpina XB7 is based on the X7 SUV but there is a twist – a good one at that. The Alpina version ramps up both the performance and luxury aspects considerably. 

The XB7 is powered using the same 4.4-liter V8 twin-turbo setup found in the regular X7 but the engine is performance-tuned to produce a whopping 612 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. This power is transferred to the all-wheel-drive system via the 8-speed automatic gearbox. As a result, the BMW Alpina XB7 can do 0-60 mph in just 4 seconds. That’s an impressive feat considering the XB7 is a full-sized SUV. As for top speed, the XB7 can max out at 188 mph.

Alpina made all this possible by tweaking the entire powertrain. They added extra water coolers, a larger transmission cooler, and a better engine cooling system. The intercoolers needed for the twin-turbo setup are upgraded and even the exhaust system receives some modification treatment. 

When it comes to the interior, the Alpina XB7 is not much different from its cousin the X7. The company hasn’t changed the cabin that much. The luxurious and practical dashboard is just too perfect to change. The third-row seats have been left in place and buyers have an option to choose from bench seats or captain chairs in the second row. The entire interior cabin is flush with high-quality Alcantara leather in contrasting colors.

BMW has already begun taking orders for the XB7 and the first XB7 will roll-out by September of this year. The price starts at $141,300, which is around $40,000 higher than the regular X7.

Alpina is BMW`s special and most prestigious tuning division that builds hardcore versions from BMW, and each time the German carmaker creates a one-off M model for instance, Alpina “counterattacks” with a tuned variant.

In this case, the BMW M5 wasn’t enough and Alpina fought back with the all-new B5 Bi-Turbo, which now quietly rests in Abu Dhabi, wearing a special paintjob and coming with awesome characteristics.

This is indeed a special Alpina B5 Bi-Turbo, extremely fast and capable of incredible acceleration that would definitely leave behind a stock M5, if fitted with the optional M Driver`s Package.

Besides the exclusive blue paintjob, this Alpina B5 Bi-Turbo is also wearing the tuner`s decals along the belt line, which makes it extremely aggressive and one of a kind.

Also, at the interior, the B5 abounds in brown leather with white contrast stitching, adding as well wood trim on the door panels and dashboard. More than that, there is also the black leather on the upper dash with brown contrast stitching, which increases the interior`s luxurious feel.

Underneath its skin, the all-new Alpina B5 Bi-Turbo is a monster on wheels. It packs no less than 600 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque, quite noticeable than the M5`s 750 Nm of torque. This also means a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, making it a tad slower than the M5, with just 0,1 seconds.

However, if you decide to unlock the car`s top speed, you could get 305 km/h and a better sprint. On the other hand, the optional M Driver`s Package provides a topping of 330 km/h, with a more impressive sprint from standstill to 100 km/h.

The new XD3 as it was named is nothing short of fantastic. While it is still in the prototype phase there are plenty to notice just from the outside. The front side of the car has been slightly altered, while the most noticeable change is the pair of brand new rims. The car is noticeably lower than its stock counterpart, which, of course, means it looks and most likely handles more aggressive.

It is worth noting that Alpina has already tweaked a previous version X3. The XD3 concept is known territory for those over at Alpina. The new BMW X3 will most likely include a similar 3 liter double turbocharger diesel engine. As in the case of its predecessor this will probably lead to about 350hp. Will this be enough to make people look towards the new XD3? We will have to wait and see.

The debut of the new 2018 BMW X3 by Alpina will probably take place at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show scheduled for March next year. Until then, we can only speculate as to what the performance – price ratio will be on this particular model. The same can be said about the current color scheme which in its gray form seems rather dull and common.

There are also rumors of completion building a more powerful 2018 X3 variant. BMW M has been reconfiguring the stock X3 into something that might leave the Alpina XD3 in the dust. If the rumors are right and the 450hp X3 rumor is right, then the guys at Alpina will definitely have tough competition. One aspect might prove useful in this battle of the giants: fuel economy.

While it may seem ridiculous, Alpina has also been working on fuel economy strategies to implement in this late 2018 X3 project. As we’ve come to expect, Alpina’s goal is to create a harmony between all aspects of automotive culture within the vehicle itself. If this is also the case, and it most likely is, then the XD3 will probably be oriented towards a public that wants more than just raw power from a beefed up ride.

Alpina has accommodated a second turbo on the BMW 435i’s N55 engine, simultaneously adding a bunch of other upgrades. This raises the performance of the engine from 300hp to an unimaginable 434hp. Suspension has also been upgraded with a softer and more responsive type, this being another improvement over the equally capable M4. The Akrapovic exhaust system only adds to the performance factor and wraps up the package in a neat performance filled vehicle.

Alpina doesn’t seem to be interested just in the performance aspect of the 435i. As in the case of other cars upgraded by Alpina, the tuner is interested in creating a comfortable and powerful ride without any compromise. On the outside the Alpina logos and the visual modifications undoubtedly attract attention. The car’s overall sleek aspect is completed by a set of 20 inch rims. The lid spoiler gives the car a sportier look and adds to the overall aggressive aspect of the car.

The interior of the BMW 435i is probably the most important element when it comes to Alpina’s statement of no compromise. Sporting leather with a classy wood trim, the interior of the BMW 435i is making this exact statement. With the Alpina version of the BMW 435i there literally is no compromise. Every aspect of the car seems to fit in well with Alpina’s take on vehicle upgrading.

All in all the BMW 435i is a must have for all BMW enthusiasts. It is itself an icon in the BMW world through Alpina’s unique concept of not accepting any compromise performance or aspect wise. The B6 xDrive Gran Coupe retains its old aero kit and 20” alloy rims beautifully wrapped in high performance low profile tires, slightly wider in the back compared to the front. Abu Dhabi’s BMW dealership has already established itself as the most luxurious one in the world, and it has done so in a very short time. Now, it seems, they managed to get their hands on an Alpina B6 Gran Coupe, which is one of the best Alpina builds out there.

This is so for a few reasons. First off, the B6 Gran Coupe is the only Alpina that is faster that the base model’s M Division variant. The B6 Gran Coupe is also the fastest car in Alpina’s arsenal so far, with its 4.4 liter twin turbo V8 outputting some 540 Hp and 730 Nm of torque. Also being equipped with BMW’s xDrive system, the Alpina B6 Gran Coupe is a real monster on the road. And just to make things more interesting, this particular unit also has a vented hood from another renowned BMW tuner, namely Manhart. I just can’t wait to see what will Abu Dhabi get next.

It has been many decades since Alpina first started collaborating with BMW to bring the ultimate driving machine up a few notches.

One of the first models they worked on was the 2002ti, and when they were done fiddling with it, it was pretty impressive. Most other vehicles were simply inferior, and for good reason. Now, BMW and Alpina are bringing a restored 1970 Alpina 2002ti to the 2014 Rolex Monterey Motorsport Reunion.

This comes as a pleasant surprise for all those that will attend the event, an event where the new 2015 Alpina B6 xDrive Gran Coupe will be introduced to the US market. In its restored form, the Alpina 2002ti is capable of delivering 220 Hp from its 2.0 liter engine, while only weighing 902 kg. This particular Alpina B12 Coupe is one of only two ever made that sport right hand steering wheel and a 6 speed manual transmission.

To understand why this is such a big deal, you have to know a bit about the BMW 8 Series, the car this is based on. Ever since it was launched, the 8 Series was an instant success to fans of the brand and cars in general. This was back in 1989. Today, seeing a BMW 8 Series on the streets is a rare thing, and seeing the Alpina B12 version of it even more so.

So where exactly does this come from? As is the case with many cars as rare as this, it came out of a private collector’s garage. In this case, it was the Sultan of Brunei, a world known car collector. The only thing surprising about the whole deal is the asking price for it: £80.000. This is quite a low price, considering the Alpina B12 Coupe was kept in a garage and barely run.

Ever since their first project together, every Bimmer that found its way on the hands of the wizards at Alpina was turned up several notches.

The quality of their builds is something you can depends on, and that is why they managed to strike out on their own a long time ago – successfully. One of their more beloved models has to be the B3 Bi-Turbo, a model based on BMW’s 335i. But just how awesome is this build?

The guys from autoforum.cz decided to find out for themselves, so they organized a speed test for the vehicle. After putting the Alpina B3 Bi-Turbo through its paces, the managed to hit the 300 km/h mark. This is quite the feat, as the improvement over the standard 335i is massive. Not so long ago, the model was finally announced for sale in North America.

Wearing a price tag of $118.225, the Alpina B6 Gran Coupe will first arrive on the new continent in April, when it will be on display at the 2014 New York International Auto Show. Following the event, the vehicle will become available for purchase.

Under the hood resides a powerful 4.4 liter Alpina Bi-turbo V8 engine capable of delivering 540 Hp to an all wheel drive system (aka xDrive). Coupled with an 8 speed automatic transmission, the B6 Gran Coupe xDrive will accelerate to 92 km/h in just 3.7 seconds.

Other features include a high performance stainless steel exhaust system and the usual high grade aesthetic improvements we came to expect from Alpina.
