However, the most important upgrades can be found under the hood. The BMW 220i gets a power boost of 34hp to a total output of 218hp while the more frugal BMW 218d and BMW 220d deliver now 174hp and 218hp, respectively.

Last but not least, the range-topping BMW 225d which normally delivers 218hp, is now able to produce 255 horsepower. All the extra power was obtained thanks to a revised ECU unit.

Last but not least, the BMW 2-Series Coupe gets lowering springs in order to bring the model 30mm (front) and 20mm (rear) closer to the ground.

And to prove me right, here they are with a new power boost, this time for the BMW 535i GT, a car that, in some opinions, is long overdue for a nice Hartge makeover.

In a true Hartge manner, the upgrade is accompanied by one of their bland but revealing videos, which you can watch if you scroll down. As for the kit itself, it brings justice to the aftermarket specialist’s legacy.

In standard form, the BMW 535i GT is capable of delivering 306 Hp and 400 Nm of torque, thanks to its 3.0 liter, 6 cylinder engine. Those numbers translate into an acceleration time to 100 km/h of 6.3 seconds, a time that is not great, but respectable for a GT.

Still, with the Hartge upgrade, the BMW 535i can improve on those numbers, delivering 362 Hp and 480 Nm of torque, but only if you can afford the €2.000 price tag.

Since the upgrade is basically just a power boost, the video also just deals with the simple numbers.

Normally, an F10 BMW 520d is good for around 184 Hp and 380 Nm of torque, which is not really that bad. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for improvement. And with the Hartge ECU kit, the 520d is taken up to 218 Hp and 450 Nm of torque. This is basically the kind of power developed by the BMW 525d version.

So why not just buy the 525d instead of fiddling with the lower model? The most compelling argument resides in the prices for the option. With the Hartge kit, you’d have to fork out €1.266, while the difference in price between the two models is closer to €4.200.

Still, that does’t mean aftermarket specialists can’t offer their services and products for the higher luxury models, like the 7 Series.

Hartge is right on that, it seems, as their latest announcement indicates, with a nice new upgrade for the F01 BMW 730d. With the tuner’s product, the power output of the 7 Series is raised from 258 HP and 560 Nm of torque up to 309 HP and 670 Nm.

If you were to compare this to the power levels of the 740d version, you’d see that it’s pretty close, so the question arises: why should you upgrade your ride with an aftermarket kit rather than just buy the same thing directly from the car maker? I’m sure buyers (and there will be buyers) have plenty of reasons. And in a Hartge traditional way, we get to see the kit at work in a nice little video just below.

Such is the case with Hartge, that was prepping Bimmers for as long as I remember.

One very awesome oldie is the E28 BMW 535i owned by Christopher Björåsen, who has not only kept that baby running smoothly up to this point, but also equipped it with some improvements. His car has seen quite a lot of additions over the years, mostly from Hartge.

Besides the power upgrade, the vehicle was also prepped to turn heads. Everything from the custom wheels, E28 M5 spoiler up to the Hartge dashboard and leather upholstery, this vehicle was made to sooth the desires of the owner, and the result doesn’t disappoint. Not many would resist the temptation of buying a brand new BMW and stick to their first love, but Christopher Björåsen did, and thanks to him, we can now enjoy this beauty.

From what it seems, Hartge manages to get the F30 BMW 335i xDrive up to the 362 Hp mark, from a standard 306 Hp. Torque is also experiencing boosts, now delivering 480 Nm up from 400 Nm. This help the car accelerate faster, and how much faster, you ask?

Well, the time it takes the Bimmer to go from 80 km/h to 200 km/h is now 14.97 seconds, making for a 4.57 seconds upgrade. So should you ever want to boost your F30 BMW 335i xDrive, Hartge style, just dish out 2.828 USD and install the kit.

They did this by a (not so) simple engine tuning, and then showcased it in a video.

Naturally, after this monster X3 was done, we all wondered which model would be next to benefit from the engine tune. And our answer came in the form of the BMW X1, the xDrive20i version.

Just like the X3, the X1 was tuned by the guys at Hartge for the sole purpose of power gains. And again, the result didn’t fail to impress. The original model sports the N20 engine, a 2.0 liter, 4 cylinder unit capable of churning out some 184 Hp and 270 Nm of torque.

Enter Hartge and their engine tune, and now the xDrive20i is able to produce 220 Hp and 325 Nm of torque, making for a 36 Hp/ 55 Nm increase. As the X3, this power is best displayed at higher speed, as the acceleration from 80 km/h to 200 km/h has dropped down 13.62 seconds, to 27.24 seconds. When their doors finally opened, and when all the smoke cleared, the new product was revealed.

This time they came up with an engine upgrade for the BMW X3 xDrive30d, and it is quite capable. Said Bimmer has under the hood a six cylinder 3.0 liter diesel unit that manages to get some 258 HP and 560 Nm of torque in standard form.

Well, after Hartge was done, the beast now churns 309 HP and 670 Nm, making for a 51 HP and 110 Nm increase. In order to showcase the capabilities of the new engine tune, a video was also released. The tune really shines at higher speeds, as the 80 km/h to 200 km/h time was cut down from 25.42 to 21.14 seconds.

Coming in the form of an engine kit, it will get your ride up 15%. That amounts to 481hp and 690Nm of torque. The acceleration to 200km/h also shaved down 4 seconds. It is, in one word, a Hartge kit worthy of a BMW 550i xDrive, and the fans out there will welcome it.

I am not sure how popular performance upgrades are with the luxury cars, but the guys from Hartge did a good thing upping the 550i.

Aside from a certain favoritism going on towards BMW, I do love a set of tuning companies that really know what they are doing when it comes to this kind of cars.

Since it was the Germans that brought us fast business and luxury saloons it only seems fitting that they fulfill our modifying needs.

In the case of German specialist Hartge, they’ve shown their work on numerous occasions.

With the F10 BMW M5 they didn’t come up with anything remarkably new or innovative. Nobody saw any major changes in what they had planned and that’s just great.

When it comes to buying stuff like this you don’t want surprises, you really want something distinctive and special without looking like a clown version.

That’s why Hartge fitted a new front spoiler, a rear silencer, carbon fibre mirror casings, 21 inch multi-spoke alloys with Michelin or Continental tires.

Inside you can have a few similar tweaks such as custom aluminium pedal sets and branded floor mats made from velour.

There is one thing that’s considerably special about the Hartge F10 BMW M5. It has had a bit of tweaking under the bonnet.

It seems that under the business suit, this pretty lady is wearing some really sexy underwear as the 4.4 liter twin-turbo V8 engine develops more grunt.

Pinch it, and you’ll see a reaction worth 642 horsepower and 597 lb-ft of torque. That’s borderline porn excitement levels.
